A serial entrepreneur and philanthropist, Natasha Raey’s primary work focuses include: healthcare, women’s empowerment, fashion, and medical marijuana. Natasha’s current ventures include a cannabis women’s intimacy line, and a brain-boosting wellness products company.
In 2017, she opened Cadence Health Centre, a team-based multi-disciplinary health centre and compounding pharmacy in downtown Toronto.
Natasha was part of the original team of Lift Cannabis Co., a publically traded company on the TSX and one of the most credible resources for cannabis information in Canada. Natasha currently works brands in the medical and recreational cannabis space and consults with various primary healthcare organizations.
Natasha possesses an Honours Degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and a Masters in Health Administration. Natasha splits her time between Toronto and Vancouver and enjoys spending her free time at the Pilates studio, shopping, and in the company of her loved ones, her cat and horse.
Philippe Lucas, Vice President, Global Patient Research & Access, Tilray
Philippe Lucas PhD(c) is Vice President, Global Patient Research & Access at Tilray, a federally authorized medical cannabis production, research and distribution company based in Nanaimo, BC; and a Graduate Researcher with the Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research. His scientific research includes the therapeutic use of cannabis in the treatment of pain, mental health conditions and addiction, and he has been invited to provide expert testimony before the Canadian House of Commons, the Canadian Senate, and the BC Supreme Court.
Philippe first became involved with medical cannabis as a patient, and founded the Vancouver Island Compassion Society in 1999 to serve the needs of patients who might benefit from the medical use of cannabis. He is extremely community involved, and served as a Victoria City Councillor and Regional Director from 2008-2011.
Philippe has received a number of accolades and awards for his work, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013) for his work and research on medical cannabis, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cannabis Canada Council (2018).
Arash Taghvai, Manager, Clinical Affairs, Apollo Cannabis Clinics
Arash Taghvai is an International Medical Graduate who works at Apollo Cannabis Clinics in Toronto. He is the Manager of Clinical Affairs working to support patients who are looking to improve their quality of life with Medical Cannabis.
Apollo is a doctor’s office in Toronto that prescribes medical cannabis for patients suffering from conditions such as pain, sleep issues, and anxiety, and Apollo educates all their patients, and the larger community, about this alternative medicine.
Our presentation is an educational talk with information on how cannabis can be used to help treat the symptoms of these conditions; it’s biological properties and makeup, some history, and consumption options including oils and capsules.
Hilary Black, Chief Advocacy Officer, Canopy Growth & the Founder of the BC Compassion Club Society, Canada’s first medical cannabis dispensary
In her role as Chief Advocacy Officer at Canopy Growth, Hilary is responsible for driving patient advocacy efforts worldwide, executing the Company’s global corporate social responsibility strategy, and leading the implementation of best practices for diversity & inclusion. In 1997, Hilary founded the British Columbia Compassion Club Society (BCCCS), the first medical cannabis dispensary in Canada. She has been dedicated to serving patients for over 20 years and continues to be committed to breaking down the barriers to access to medical cannabis for all patients. Hilary is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Award, acknowledging her for making a significant contribution to Canadian society for her work with cannabis.
