Hearing Loss? A Little Advice

Bob Quelch is the Regional Manager of HearingLife Canada’s hearing healthcare clinics in southern British Columbia. He was born in Nanaimo and raised in North Vancouver. It was a desire to understand his own hearing loss and tinnitus that led him to study the human auditory system.

Bob earned his Bachelor’s degree in cognitive psychology from the University of Toronto and his Master’s degree in clinical audiology from the University of Western Ontario.

In his professional life, he has worked in hearing research at the University of Toronto, McMaster University and the National Centre for Audiology. He has practiced clinical audiology in both hospital and private practice settings and is a clinical faculty member of the School of Audiology and Speech Sciences at the University of British Columbia.

In his free time, Bob is a regular volunteer for the Special Olympics Healthy Hearing Program, and enjoys playing the banjo.
