Simon and Garfunkel were one of the most popular recording artists of the 60’s. They met as kids in Queens, New York, where they learned to harmonize together and began writing original songs and ended up as a very important fabric in the culture of that decade’s social revolution.
They had their first brush of success with “Hey Schoolgirl”, a song that was written as an imitation and tribute to their idols, The Everly Brothers. As their talent for song writing evolved, then came their biggest hits such as The Boxer, Bridge over Trouble Water, Mr.’s Robinson and the Sounds of Silence. These were just some of the Iconic hits made famous by this incredible duo and all of those songs reached number one on the singles charts worldwide.
This is The Ultimate Tribute to “Simon & Garfunkel”, known as “Byrd Dawg”, starring Joel Dietrich and Wayne Rempel.
Joel and Wayne both grew up listening to those amazing harmonies and lyrics. Playing together in bands for several years they discovered their mutual love for singing and harmonizing. They read about Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and many other artists all claiming to be influenced by Phil and Don Everly. The more Joel and Wayne played together, the greater their excitement and interest grew in developing a tribute to Simon & Garfunkel and the Everly Brothers.
Byrd Dawg has been performing for a number of years to smiling, cheering audiences who sing along. Come relive the excitement as Byrd Dawg performs songs full of those harmonies that have stood the test of time!
